Stinky Bag Dilemma with Hollister 18323!

This topic is about dealing with an unpleasant odor issue from a specific type of ostomy pouch and figuring out how to return unused supplies. The person who started the discussion noticed a persistent stool odor coming from the Hollister closed-end pouch 18323, even when it was almost empty. The smell seemed to escape through the filter and linger on the fabric, which was noticeable even after washing. Because of this, they switched back to a different brand but now have extra Hollister supplies they don't want to use. They're wondering if they can return these items to Edgepark, their supplier, to avoid exceeding their insurance-covered supply limit.

Here are some helpful insights and advice shared by others:

1. Some people have not experienced odor issues with Hollister pouches, suggesting it might be a problem specific to certain individuals or batches.

2. Returning items to Edgepark is possible under certain conditions:
- The items must be new, unopened, and in their original, resalable packaging.
- You need to contact Edgepark Customer Care at 1-800-321-0591 to get a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before sending anything back.
- Returns should be shipped at your expense within 30 days of the original shipment date and within 30 days of receiving the RMA.
- A credit will be issued after the warehouse confirms the product is in saleable condition, and the refund will be applied to the original payment method.
- Edgepark will not accept items that are opened, written on, near expiration (within 180 days), or considered hygiene-related if the safety seal is broken.

3. It's recommended to call Edgepark as soon as possible and have your order number ready to make the RMA process quicker.
