Well, I had nausea and had a vomiting episode, and it came back up. I ended up with nausea, so far so good. I did get blocked for a few days, but I got unblocked and have been fine. Not much pain on this feed, but lots of wind, and I had a leak this morning. Not bloody had one of them for ages. Hopefully, I will find out my future plan on Monday. Thanks to everyone. 😀

An improvement... Good to see; you'll get there, kiddo.

One step at a time. Keep getting better!

Hi Hatlady and all,

I've had my ostomy for over 50 years, since I was a kid, and didn't think I really needed to be part of the ostomy site. But once active, I came to realize, that although I may not need help at the time, I was able to reach out and  help others in need. Back in the day, before stoma therapists, I use to visit new patients in the hospital or homes ... While professionals are great, it is also good to be able to speak with people with personal experience. I was a free member for awhile, but after writing often, I was given free months. I then started paying, and decided to just take lifetime membership. After all, I was going to have my ostomy for the rest of my life. I'm one of those people who can disappear for a few months at a time, but I'm always glad that the site is here, I can return and reconnect with old friends, and make new ones. This is an excellent site ... Best regards to all ... and Best wishes for a Healthy and Happy New Year.

Nasal gastric tube, it draws out contents of the stomach via your nose, I believe. I've had them, but it's been a while...not very attractive or fun!

A little here, a little there... Keep feeling better!

They shove a tube down your nose.  It’s torture!

One of the worst experiences I've ever had!  It just didn't want to go down, and I was choking and screaming between chokes, asking them to stop.  'It's almost there, hold on', the nurse said.  No it wasn't! They finally got it down, but I felt like I'd been tortured for sure.  My sympathy to anyone who goes through that!

Terry

Ng goes into the stomach and a nj goes further and has less chance of it coming back out and has worked so far.

Mine is for nutrition feed, not to draw stuff out, but to put stuff in. So far, so good. Hopefully, going home next week. Five weeks in the hospital is not good. xx

Thanks, my sister still has pain if I eat too much, but I'm learning to space things out and enjoy little things. xxx can't wait to go back home 😊

Nasal gastric tube goes in the stomach for feeding and goes past the stomach further and stays in better. 😀

Thank you. Got to be done with a bit of advocating for yourself when they don't listen. Took a while, but I think I am getting somewhere now. Just need to gain weight for surgery with this feed. Fingers crossed. 🤞 😅 😄

Definitely agree, especially when nurses don't keep on top of flushing it and block it, and you have to go to radiology to unblock it. That was brutal. 😭😟
