Nice crisp day, light wind blowing south. Oiled the chain, pumped up the tires, then put Stoma Cherry Bomb on the road.

First stop... the channel.

I'm taking an educated guess: Double-crested Cormorant. Another one was in the water diving for fish.

Tough ride going north against the headwind. Nice cruising home, going south.

A certain feline was hiding in my room.

Moon shot from earlier in the week.

Remember to keep moving. Get out of the house. Take a walk, ride a bike, enjoy a starry night. Like Carl Fredricksen proclaims in my favorite movie... UP:

"Adventure! It's out there!"

Hello Beachboy.
I agree entirely with your last sentiment about 'getting out there'. To that end, I have just bought an electric trike to replace my bicycle, which has become a liability as I kept falling off and I feel I'm too old to keep getting injured in this way. Hopefully the e-trike will offer a bit more stability and security on my rides.
Best wishes

Hi Bill

An E trike is an excellent choice.  I had a neighbor who was like the Energizer bunny.  He was 83, had both knees replaced and suffered from Meniere's disease.  His pride and joy was a beautiful 1967 Jaguar XKE E-type.

After falling off his bike a few times, ditched it and got a pedal trike.  Installed a large red flag on a 10 foot pole in the back.  We used to see him zipping all over town.  He really enjoyed it.

Hello Beachboy.

I decided against the big red flag in case it might have been interpreted as political and made me even more vulnerable on the roads.
Yesterday I took it for a run in the countryside only to realise how bad the British roads have become with potholes all the way.
On a 2 wheeler, I just swung around them but on a trike, I kept forgetting that the back wheels were out on a limb, so I was nearly thrown off several times. I expect I’ll learn quite quickly to avoid them, although they seem to be everywhere and sometimes unavoidable.

Needless to say, there were a few modifications to the new trike I felt were necessary.

I have fitted lights back and front, plus flashing indicators to the back mudguards and the handlebars and tonight I rode it to get fish & chips in the dark. It felt like (and probably looked like) I was a beacon of Christmas decoration lights all around.
However, the traffic seemed to be giving me a wide birth so the lights were doing a great job.
I’m now researching whether there is a cycle helmet with built-in cameras back and front, or whether I will have to make one for myself. Also. I have plans for an extra seat where my wife or I could ride in tandem ( if she is up for it).
The next job will be to declutter my shed and then get rid of the car!
It feels as if I’m moving into a new dimension in life.
Best wishes

Bill

Here’s the moon this morning at 5:12 while we were setting up to duck hunt.

I agree…a person needs to get out and live by doing something.
