I have had my colostomy for 25 years.  Prior to that I had a recto-vaginal fistula.  Now I am suspecting a vesicovaginal fistula.  Has anyone else had this?  I would like to learn more.

I have had the recto-vaginal fistula but I have never hear do this vesiovaginal fistula. Is that painful? Please keep me updated on that and I wish I had more insight on it for you...

sorry to sound ignorant, what/where is the vesico part of the equation? i had a fistula that branched from my rectum and exited perianally. so while i don't sport the vaginal side of the equation, i can fully empathize.

Vesico-vaginal is between the bladder and the vagina.

Thank you for explaining that.

for some surgeons, it's a matter of imaging so they know what they are getting into. a second opinion may be a formality, but usually worth the time and effort (and any expense (usually)). but usually it's just who hears why you think you suspect it better.
