Viewing profiles

Hi All,

Not sure about anyone else out there but I love looking at peoples profiles! It shows me that Ostomates come from every walk of life, every profession, every education level, every country all for the same reason, An Ostomy. It is interesting who you connect with and who you don't. I don't always comment on a profile that I look at and get lots of views that don't comment either. Sometimes I do this for an hour or two. It is interesting to read what brought you to this point, how you feel about it how you are getting on with life. So for those that make no comment on their profile or do not update once in a while, it reminds me to do so if nothing but to give someone else a good read! If we are here to share, your profile is a good start!

Why does this topic not run on the feed! That is weird!

Might not be seen in the main feed as it is in "Social Discussions", if I recall from years ago (when I did actually post on occasion!) new threads in that section never appear on the home page.

Agree about reading the profiles, mine is as basic as they come, but maybe a tad more info than the ones that state "I'll tell you later", LOL!Later never seems to arrive I've noticed.

I absolutely agree: profiles are fascinating to read, often encouraging, sometimes a pointer to prayer for people going through tough times. I suspect, though, that we tend to write them then never update them, which is a pity.

The internet is a big place and we are a smallish and rather specialised group: maybe we should reach out to one another more as a result of recognising common ground with people, even if they are hundreds of miles away? Of course some people only join for ostomy-related information, but for others it can be immensely encouraging to know that there is a bigger life after (or with!) a stoma. Chris

I think I came here in hopes of some advise or at least to hear others experiences but have found so much more here! I am a VERY private person so even talking about my cancer or surgeries was uncomfortable for me prior to here! Most of my friends and none of my family know anything about any of it! I like it that way! Now I will talk to anyone here about it! Even poop was a private matter! Ha! Poop is what we all talk about! Lol I have developed some lasting relationship with others! It has been very rewarding and yes, reading the profiles was of those that I call friends!
