Best Clips for Reusable Sensura Bags?

This topic is about finding discreet and easy-to-use clips or alternatives for reusable Coloplast Sensura bags. The person currently uses Coloplast Sensura drainable pouches with a Velcro® closure and is considering switching to reusable pouches that require an external tail clip. They are looking for something small, discreet, and simple to operate. Here are some helpful insights and advice from others:

1. Many people prefer the built-in Velcro® closure on Sensura pouches because clips can add extra weight. If possible, continue using the original Sensura closure.

2. To save costs, consider using ColoMajic® flushable pouch liners. These are made in Canada and available through suppliers like Edgepark. They allow a closed-end pouch to be worn for several days. They seal well with ConvaTec pouches, not as well with Hollister New Image, and their performance with Coloplast pouches is unknown.

3. Prioritize quality over economy. It's important not to compromise on the reliability of your appliance, as damaged clothing and anxiety can end up costing more than a few extra dollars.

4. A simple and low-cost clip idea is to use a small "bulldog" paper clip. This can be fastened over the tail to prevent accidental opening when clothing is lowered.

5. Some users still prefer a standard ostomy tail clip. They might notice it under tight clothing but appreciate the security it provides, especially after experiencing Velcro® failures outdoors.

6. Sensura open-ended (drainable) pouches have been reliable for many users. In Canada, some users receive these monthly (30–90 pouches) at no personal cost.

7. To stretch supplies, you can rinse and air-dry the Sensura pouch so it can be reused until the next flange change. Avoid using filtered bags if your output is very liquid, as this can help save money.
