im new

This topic is about a new member who has recently joined a forum and is feeling a bit lost and unsure about how to navigate life with an ostomy. They are looking for understanding and connection with others who share similar experiences.

Here are some pieces of advice and insights shared by others:

1. Be yourself and feel free to ask any questions you have in the forum or blogs. There will always be someone ready to answer and help.

2. You don't need to write long posts. Just share whatever is on your mind or how you're feeling, and others will respond with helpful advice.

3. Many members initially felt isolated, but by regularly posting and reading, they realized they are not alone.

4. The site offers a supportive space that has helped many ostomates feel more grounded, so keep participating.

5. Try visiting the chat room in the evenings for real-time conversations.

6. A tip from another ileostomate for managing output: they drink about 2 liters of fluids daily and eat most foods without issues. Some people use Imodium (loperamide) while others do not. It's important to remember that individual results vary, so it's best to discuss with your medical team.
