MYSTERIOUS DARK DOTS ON SHOWER FLOOR

This topic is about dealing with those pesky dark waxy dots that can appear on your shower floor, which are actually residue from barrier rings used around a stoma. Here's a simple breakdown of what was shared and some helpful tips:

- The issue started when someone noticed stubborn dark spots on their shower floor. These turned out to be small balls of wax from their barrier ring.
- Their routine involved showering without a bag every third day and using hot water and finger friction to remove leftover ring material around the stoma. They assumed the crumbles would wash down the drain, but many stuck to the floor and hardened.
- They discovered that using an adhesive-remover wipe before showering quickly dissolves the waxy build-up, allowing the debris to fall onto toilet paper and be flushed away. This method also shortens shower time and saves on cleanup water.

Here are some additional insights and advice from others who have experienced the same issue:

1. Many confirmed that these mystery dots are indeed barrier-ring wax, not mold.
2. For cleaning and removal:
- Spray WD-40 on the hardened dots; they wipe off easily.
- "Awesome" all-purpose cleaner can also loosen and remove the residue.
- Esenta Adhesive Remover wipes dissolve both adhesive and wax. Use them while seated on the toilet before a shower to prevent dots from reaching the floor.
3. A general tip is that adhesive remover products work well on waxy barrier-ring residue as well as on tape or wafer adhesive.
