I had my entire large intestine removed when I was a toddler due to IBD. Had a bag right after that, I'm sure, but I don't remember; for most of my life I lived with an internal ileo-anal pouch. Around 16 or so, they had to remove a section of small intestine that had essentially become a mass of scar tissue, & I had to be given an ostomy. Took some getting used to at first, of course, but it really did heavily improve my quality of life overall, so I elected to keep it. I'm mainly on this site to hear about the experiences of others with an ostomy bag & to maybe chime in sometimes too, not particularly to find any type of relationship.
