I am a recovered/cured (??, I hope) rectal cancer, had simple resection first in 2005 followed by chemo. Recurrence found in 2007, had abd.-perineal resection with permanent colostomy, radiation and chemo. Annual colonoscopy showed no more cancer but developed recurrent small bowel obstrucion from radiation ileitis, ileal resection in 2010. Now fine !
