I had my stoma in 1971 through U.C. I was married at the time and still am. My husband was a great support. He even used to try and find new ways to put my appliance on as I had a terrible time with leaks. Wasn't too much out there at that time. The products have come so much better over the years. I have had a number of op's due to stoma sinking, hernia, etc.
I manage ok and if I'm honest I would love to not have a stoma but I have and you have to make the best of it.
