The best way to avoid a blockage is to chew, chew, chew.

I bet you will see half of it eventually. They never break down. Just like corn.

It comes out in bits of red flesh. Big bits sometimes and smaller bits other times. Not a whole tomato, silly.

Yeah a year ago I wouldn't have known what to ask to find out I had a parastomal hernia. The only reason I knew about them is from this site. Thank goodness for this site. Otherwise I would still be clueless. If I hadn't though from stuff on here to ask my surgeon about having a hernia, then I would have never had the CT and I would have never known that she should have known about it a year ago.

That's like couscous was for me. All the little round balls came out in my bag, and I was like, wow, that could have gotten stuck inside me.

My quinoa did become cement and put me in the hospital with a blockage! 😬

That happened to me with a mix of rice, broccoli, and cheese sauce. I ended up in the hospital with a blockage, and they stuck an NG tube in me. Unpleasant. No food for 4 days. I was starving. But the blockage cleared on its own without needing surgery. Fortunately, I was very lucky.

Ugh, mine cleared on its own, too 🙏. It really makes us more careful with food.

Yes, it does, because I don't ever want to go through that again.
