Let me start by saying I'm very new to having my urostomy bag. My doctor told me she was ordering supplies which would arrive in 2 weeks approx. Well, a month later I'm left with no supplies. I literally have the last bag on, but it's leaking everywhere. I have no idea what to do. I was wondering, has anyone made a DIY to get through? If so, where would I start? Thanks in advance for any comments.

I would go to the nearest hospital and see if they have some supplies you could have.

Do you have an ostomy nurse who might be able to help you out?

Thank you for your quick reply. I'll discuss irrigation with my doctor. I'm sure it would be down the road. My output is still very liquid. It's all so unpredictable at 6 weeks post-op. I have such a fear of constipation as I struggled with this forever. I used a fiber source to thicken the stool but it hasn't helped very much. I guess I will continue to be positive but it is a bit of a pain. This website is great and everyone is so informative. Cheryl

Hi, you could contact suppliers of the products directly and check out if they provide free samples. I use Dansac Invent products, and their website: www.dansac.com states that you can request free samples from them. Not only would getting a bunch of samples be useful as backup, it would give you the opportunity to try out different products.

You can try these resources in your area or Google emergency ostomy supplies.

Hope this helps.

You could try a local ostomy group.
