Why Can't My Wife Get Drunk After Her Ileostomy?

No matter how much or what my wife drinks she just cant get drunk since she had an illeostomy..anyone make any suggestions..she is getting very VERY depressed..you wouldn't believe how this is affecting her (the not getting drunk, not the illeostomy) she feels rejected..she wont go out anymore and says theres no point as she cant get drunk and everyone else does get drunk..its getting really serious in her eyes (which is where it matters).

Please help with suggestions..Thank you

The only hint......Tequila...salt and lemon...lick, sip, suck....try a few of them and see how she goes.. (hic)

I’m usually not one for “support groups” and loathe whatever the hell they call Facebook these days.
This site has literally been a lifesaver because of its members, part support group, part dad jokes, part story telling, mostly friendship and if people don’t agree they just keep it to themselves. I honestly reminds me of the old days and just plain old polite society, it helps me more than I can explain. Thank you to everyone that allows me to engage with them and to all the members that help other members!

That is hard to believe (I'm not doubting what you say). I can feel my alcohol intake just as if I didn't have an ileostomy.

I'm with you on that mercutio....I'm not a big drinker(hic) but I can still get as crissed as a picket when I want to(hic)and now that I'm here(hic) I think I need a refill.(hic)Lmao....later Tara :?Oh and I am kidding...got a cup of tea..but ya get the idea
