My doctor recently prescribed Questran powder to "suck up the liquid" from my intestines to make my output less watery. Has anyone had any experience with this? I didn't know anything about it until I read online that it is a cholesterol medication. I am thinking my doctor is confused. I also was worried "sucking up the liquid" would hurt my stage 3 CKD. Anyone know anything about this medication? I took it once. Half a packet, and I had terrible cramps and felt like I was going to vomit. So I stopped taking it. I don't think I want to take it anymore. Plus, half a packet did nothing to thicken my output. I told him I would rather work with Imodium, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. At least I know Imodium is safe for my kidneys. What is everyone's input on this?
