The other day I forgot to use a ring. I was not going to change it then but just see how it works. I only got 2 days; with a ring in place, I often get 10+ days. Rings really do work. I will not make that mistake again. One can only hope.

LOL, I am sure I will forget my ring someday. It is exactly the kind of thing I would do. I doubt I'll get 2 days. Congrats!

I began my Urostomy life February 27th, 2023...a month and a half ago. I stumbled upon this site from another on Youtube and website called VeganOstomy and between that site and this one, most of my fear and worry of not having any answers other than calling the Dr's office recording menu and hoping to hear back in the next day or two for an answer to leaks, skin irritations etc, or just feeling alone and the "no one understands" thoughts I had to look forward to in my mind were all put to rest by these two websites and the community here at MaO!! I have been here for a few weeks now, and the help and support offered by the members here is just amazing!! The information and support is absolutely priceless for anyone recently out of their surgery and have tons of questions or had it for years...sit down...have a good read and you will see for yourself!!

Never forget the ring. Forgot to peel the protective thing off the wafer once. Just an FYI, the ring doesn't stick well to it.

And I prefer not using one. I have to use one if my skin gets raw, though. The sarin-infused rings.

[Soapbox] Sometimes I use paste. I have way too many tubes. Byram sent them by mistake. Sometimes their warehouse people don't know if you ordered two boxes of adhesive removal wipes or literally two wipes! [/Soapbox]

I've made that mistake before, just forgetfulness. Getting in too much of a hurry to get the bag on before my stoma decides to erupt. Live and learn.
