Found this advisory from the Coloplast instruction note.

Also saw they mentioned those stickers to protect pouch filters were for preventing gas from escaping. Huh? 🤷‍♂️ And here my thought was when showering, the stickers were to protect the filter.

Warrior,

Hey, I thought that was a great and useful comment “protecting during shower,” but whenever I tried a product with a filter, I used it to cover escaping air. If someone is full of air, this would not be useful, but a few stoma fartlettes buffer the pancakes for me (buffer the pancakes, sounds like a new recipe)…jb

My husband's ostomy nurse recommended the site two years ago. The help and recommendations they have given us is invaluable.

Or is "buffer" a typo? Butter the pancakes? 🤪

These stickers? Never use them. The filters are clogged. As an ileostomy liquid always touches it. Ain't a fan of stickers or the charcoal filters.

Or washing and reusing bags.

Commercially insured here. So that is the number one reason.

Small copay. Can't complain. Very lucky dude here. Won't retire.

My wayward cat Charcoal, nicknamed "the weasel," has lodged a formal complaint with the UN International Feline Protectorate.

The term "charcoal filter" as related to a poo bag causes her undue anxiety, only relieved by gorging on kibbles.

Thus, by consent decree, it shall be modified to "aromatic delineation port."

Make a note of it.

Noted. Being politically correct in these times is essential. Or is it just being kind, as Bill W. writes?

Then again, your cat needs to get laid. 👍 Perhaps? 🤦

Yes, that's right; all brands should have an information leaflet, but most never read it. To be honest, I never use them and have never found a filter in any make of bag that works. Even before that, the filters we had to stick on ourselves over 30 years ago and prick with a pin about seven times hurt my fingers way too many times, though lol.

I was following up on the thread initially about stickers, a post that they were made to keep air in, and filters allowing the bag to breathe. So I went reading. I found a leaflet in one box and saw the advisory regarding stickers and rinsing bags out.

True, no one reads that stuff.

Yep. I thought the stickers were provided to keep water from getting into the filter while showing.

Vegan Ostomy mentioned that the stickers can be used strategically to keep some air/gas in the bag to help prevent pancaking.

She is fixed. I couldn't imagine being surprised with a litter of "Weasels."

Never heard of the immaculate conception? It worked for Mary and Joseph.

I believe it. I have experienced the bag sucking wind!

I haven't been using the stickers with my Coloplast Sensura Mio bags anymore. I haven't had issues from not using them. So, I agree, it's only good for keeping the wind in and out!
