Hi all!
I'm Carmen in Alaska.  I have a couple questions.
What do you do for finding a dress for a formal occasion (floor length)?  No matter what I've tried, I can see my Ostomy area (have a rather large hernia also).
What do you wear for swimming?  Do you wear a stoma cap?   Do you have a special swimsuit? My stoma is just about 2 inches above my waist - not a nice placement for sure.

What ostomy supplies do you use?

I am very interested in which innovations, improvements, etc. of which you are aware.

Hope to hear from someone!!

Hi Carmen,  the only thing that I have found to hide my colostomy when going formal is a 2 piece dress with a long skirt and a nice blouse that covers my hips.  For swimming, I wear those skirt type swimming suits and I have found a couple of one piece that also don't show my colostomy.  I guess you just have to try different styles to see what works for you.  Several women on the site have pictures of themselves in bikinis with their appliances showing.  They look beautiful, appliance and all!  Jane

Good Evening Bob and All,

I checked my email and saw new postings. That's when I usually visit the site. I've recently met a few others who have developed UC and have made contact with them. I've directed them to this site. I also use the site to look up concerns they or I have. This site has been unusually helpful to me. I have seen questions and concerns of others posted. After I scroll down and see similar comments that I would make, I don't comment. As for social media interest, I have a Facebook account (due to work). As of this date, I have one Facebook Friend (and don't even know how that happened). I find the content here more relevant to my life. Then again, I'm old school. If I want to see how a friend is doing I just make a call.

Stay Safe and Sane all. Back to the hockey game,
