hello all I recently flew to hawaii and spent a day on the beach then flew the cod( a small twin engine plane that holds 25 people and a navy crew of 4)out to  a navy ship in distress and landed on the aircraft carrier,2 and a half hours later by means of an arresting gear, which stops you in 300 ft in 1.5 seconds.I had done this many times prior to having my ileostomy, but when your wearing a 4 point harness strapped to  a tiny seat and wearing a life preserver it does put a little squeese on the ole bag.
after spending 3 days onboard said ship then it was time to get back on the cod and now catapult off the ship, which consistes of putting on the same outfit and sitting back in the tight seat and launch off the catapult 345 ft in 2.8 seconds and fly back to the beach but only for 30 mins.then spent the night in waikiki and back home the following day.I posted some new pics here on the fun.Having done this archaic  and brutal way of flying I think anyone out there that feels its to hard to fly and to bothersome can be rest assured that you can fly anywhere now and get out of the house and enjoy life.I had no squeaks or leaks the whole time.
happy new year

I am scheduled for my reversal on 12/4. All my pre-admin stuff is completed and my GI signed off on the clearance letter this morning. I am super excited and looking forward to not having a bag. I just hope all goes well and heals well so I don't wake up with a temp bag which will lead to yet another surgery.

I have learned a lot from this website and will continue to be on here even after surgery. To all the ostomates out there, keep your heads up and keep pressing forward. We all have good and bad days. Best of luck to you all.

I will be sure to post my progress after surgery. I'm praying for you all.

Doesn't it feel good to get through all that with no ille challenges?!  Really.  I hope all of our lives can become quirk proof.  It is stressful worrying about what might go wrong.  I want to know what brand and what products you used to get you through all that.  I am heading back to Hawaii for fun in the sun for my 3rd time in 3 years and hope all goes well again.  I have had so many problems with illeostomy flanges and pouches, then I found Coloplast to work great now. I feel we need to get out there and do whatever we want to, or work towards that. Great to hear your experience!
