Hello fellow ostomates,

This is my first time starting a new topic so please bear with me if I did anything incorrectly.

I came across this new product (or new to me anyway) that is geared toward people who for one reason or other cannot eat solid foods.  I know that from my own experiences with UC and frequently reading of others on this site having difficulty with solid foods that it can be a big problem trying to get sufficient nutrients without risking blockages or simply during the phases after surgery when we are just acclimating our changed G.I. tract to eating again.

The product is called HopeFULLs, and I have included a link below to the YouTube.com video that gives a bit of a demonstration of the product.  It certainly looks like something that could be of great use to many who use this site.  However, please be sure to still consult your doctor/surgeon/nurses to make sure it is okay to ingest these types of meals before using them.  Good luck!

Take care,
George

P.S. The home page for the product is http://www.thehopefullcompany.com/

Thank you for posting the information, was very interesting. I have many problems with blockages , so have found my way of getting veggies and other food as nutrients  by a lot of blending. But of course i still eat most solid food but try to   avoid what could cause a blockage  .. ambies...

Ambles - glad you liked it.  I think I did read one of your recent postings about having some difficulties with blockages.  My sympathies, here's to hoping that they are few and far between.  I typically eat solid foods as well, avoiding certain things or at least making sure they are very thoroughly chewed (oranges, mushrooms, peanuts, etc.).  Even then they sometimes make my stoma strain to push them out.  However, the Thanksgiving meal frozen HopeFULL pops shown in the video actually look kind of tasty, might have to try them out for myself
