I depended upon 4" Pink Hy-Tape to cover my entire ostomy site like a bandage during intimacy.  Two years ago it STOPPED STICKING TO MY SKIN.  It just comes unattached or falls off.

I think the formula has changed as my usage did not.  I need a stronger, stickier, more reliable tape!!!

I called the company in New York and was given free tubes of 3 tape rolls.  These new rolls fell off of my body as well, even when I tried to SuperGlue them to my skin!  They would not admit to a formula change.

Please Help Me!

have you tried opsite flexifix tape? it sticks. showers, sex ,sweat no problem. i use the 5cm wide cut into strips and positioned all the way around the plate and skin. it's a breathable tape so no irritation.

I’ve only been on this site a little bit, I hardly know how to navigate it, LOL! I just want to say that everyone seems so kind and supportive to each of the members and it’s not only helpful, it makes me happy that there really are so many nice people in this world that can sometimes feel so bleak and cold. I didn’t even know about this site until I found it by accident. I think the hospital staff should bring it to their patients’ attention. Thanks to all, even if you’re just listening!

Hey, if you're looking for support to keep it all out of the way, check this out:

I just ordered the lacy band from them - I can't endorse it yet, but I'm hopeful.

My husband doesn't care, but it annoys me when things swing 'n' sway.

Good luck - I hate it when manufacturers mess with success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had excellent results for years with Kendall CURITY 2" Standard Porous Tape (p/n 6613) (the pink Hy-Tape never really worked well for me).

The Kendall is a cloth based tape, which has a strong adhesive which is still very gentle to the skin. It's porous and breathable so extended wear isn't a problem, but if used for framing an appliance, will contain liquid in the event of a wafer failing.

You can try using cloth tape from 3M. Do you use barrier strips?
