ZERO ISSUES.  Was awesome!  The first time I did it, I cried a little bit, lol.  Just because I never thought I'd do it again.  Amazing the little things you take for granted, right?  I bought a bikini bottom made for people with ostomies and now I'm at the beach all the time

Hi Crossley. Ya know, I think it’s all about feelings. I don’t mean the pain feelings which could control everything. I mean the feelings inside our heads, our hearts and even our souls. I mean the feelings of who we are now compared to who we were; how we accept our situation or maybe we don’t. My wife asked how I felt and I said, “like crap”. She asked what hurt and I answered, “Nothing hurts, well, everything hurts, I don’t know, It all sucks.” That was a long time ago. You question if your feelings are normal. How normal is it to relocate your butt hole to your belly where it’s usually in the way of your belt and, you know. But that’s where we are and for lots of us we are so much better off than we were before, physically. Emotionally, psychologically, well, that might be a different story. I believe talk therapy is wonderful if we could find a real empathic or sympathetic listener. So guess what! I found MAO and began “talking” with a keyboard with some of the wisest, kindest most sympathetic and compassionate folks on the planet. Regardless of where we’ve been, lots of folks here have been there and worse places and found their way back healthier and happier. We really do help each other.
Keep “talking”,
Mike

I am a one year ostomy patient.
I love to swim and have been in the ocean and a pool, with no leaks, but have a hard time finding ladies swim bottoms to fit over my stoma . My husband is taking me to Hawaii beginning of October for our 30th wedding anniversary

and sure would be more comfortable with the 'proper swim outfit'. Where did you order the bikini bottom from?

Claire, I bought it from www.ostomysecrets.com.  A word of warning - the suit bottoms run big.  I got a small (I'm a size 6 to 8 depending).  I just bought a regular $8 Wal Mart bikini top to go with it.  Hope that helps!

Hi - I also wanted to share that if you go swim suit shopping early, you may be able to find high rise bikini bottoms.  I did and they are great.  I actually bought one larger size too and it helped.

I have been googling for high rise swim suits...Victoria Secret has a few selections and I recently went to Macy's department store and they had some very nice options available.  Just wanted to pass along the information.
