I was wondering if anyone has ever attended the Ostomy Conference and if so was it worth taking the time to attend?  I noticed there is one in St. Louis in September.  Thanks.  Penguins7

Hi Penguins7,  Yes, I attended the 2013 conference in Jacksonville, Florida.  It was a great time both educationally and socially.  The conference offered variety of classes about ostomy living as well as a stoma clinic.  What was nice about the clinic, you could meet with a wound care nurse and have an evaluation of your stoma and skin.  There were networking/socializing events organized too such as dancing, partying and lots of laughing.  I would recommend this conference to ostomates.  I will be there again this year (if all goes as planned) talking/marketing my new book - Stanley and Me make three.  Take care - LH.

This group has been my go-to during my loneliest hours whenever I've had a "bag blowout" at 3am and there was no one else in the world to talk to.

Because it's a global community, there's always someone here to lend an ear, provide advice, and just hold my hand if that's all I need.

Sure, there's also a lot of camaraderie, fun topics, and laughs, but the main reason I come here is for the total acceptance I get from the members. No one else on the planet could possibly "get" what I'm going through, not even my loving husband or supportive family.

The "Meet an Ostomate" forum is definitely a one-of-a-kind family, which I am very proud to belong to.
