Hi, I am just thinking that you may be having an allergic reaction to your product causing burning bruising.  Are you able to try something else or possibly call another company and request a few samples.  The reason that I am suggesting an allergy is that I used a product that cause serious itching and I used it everything I changed my wafer.  Eventually the itching would decrease but than my wafer would peel up.  Anyway, completely my accident, I tried another product an it worked much better.  I have slight itching but nothing like I did previously.  I donated all of my remaining product that caused itching and now am using this new product.  I do have very sensitive skin so I am not alarmed by the allergic reaction.  Just a thought.....  Take care.  Hope you are feeling better soon.  LH

I’m usually not one for “support groups” and loathe whatever the hell they call Facebook these days.
This site has literally been a lifesaver because of its members, part support group, part dad jokes, part story telling, mostly friendship and if people don’t agree they just keep it to themselves. I honestly reminds me of the old days and just plain old polite society, it helps me more than I can explain. Thank you to everyone that allows me to engage with them and to all the members that help other members!

Hello dewdrop. I was interested in your question because I thought that the bruising around my stoma was 'normal' . It looks dreadful in the mirror and sometimes is painful. However, it has been there ever since the surgery which is a few years back now so I just think that this is the way it is!. I have a partastomal hernia so I put the bruising and the pain partly down to that.

I have tried all sorts of different products but the bruising remains. I don't have problems with sore skin as I use a barrier wipe or spray. the bruising I refer to is under the skin and seems to be part of the stoma.

Sorry I don't have any constructive answers to your question but I too will be interested in the replies to this topic.

Best wishes

Bill
