Hello scorsby.
You are not alone! I only suffer from this sort of thing spasmodically so I don't bother about it much.
My theory, for what it's worth, is that before the stoma, I had a prolapse which was absolute agony. I still have a portion of colon down there so I'm presuming it's still prolapsing but without the faeces to put pressure on it and make it unbearable. I'm not intending to have it investigated or to have anything done about it, so I cannot comment authoritatively on the subject. However, I thought I'd share my experiences with you.
If you do find out what causes your pain, I would be interested to hear.
Best wishes
Bill

Great site..I have had an colostomy over 30 years..and have been thru skin rash around my stoma,hernias(2), leaks, odor control , needed clothing suggestions and this site has helped me with recommendations and many ideas worked!
I wish it was around 30 years ago. Thank you everyone!

Hi Bill
Thanks for sharing that with us.
I suspect that there are many many 'Ostomites'out there who suffer discomfort to a greater or lesser extent.
Having most of what you have between your legs cut out is bound to have a serious affect on sitting comfortably, but of course, these things are never explained at the start.
