I have an ileostomy due to Crohn's. I have heard taking ibuprofen is a bad idea as it can cause bleeding. Just wanting to know if those with an ostomy should stay away from ibuprofen or not.

Thanks!

Very helpful

I think if you're taking ibuprofen on a regular basis, you may want to stop. This isn't good to take all the time, whether you have an ostomy or not. I have taken it for a headache without any problems. My doctor has even told me to take it for muscle strains.

Best wishes,

Rebecca

Every morning when I enjoy my big cup of coffee I scroll through this site and this warm feeling just overwhelms me.

I never post anything (too shy and it feels like I don’t have anything of interest to share tbh) but I sure read a lot of posts from you guys and they are so informative, supportive encouraging and so so full of love and a big dose of humor.

I feel like part of the best family in the world (even though I am just sitting quietly in the corner lol).

I just wanted to share that feeling and say thanks to all of you for being so wonderful.

And also, please keep some fingers crossed for me this week. I have my blood test on Thursday, checking my CA 125 levels. Ovarian cancer reoccurrence fear unlocked again. I hate it!

Lots of love from Sweden

I take only Acetaminophen PM at night and have never had any issues. Aspirin-based painkiller is not good for your stomach and definitely not NSAIDs!

Sometimes you just gotta do what works though!

I take ibuprofen regularly, have done for quite a few years. I try to keep it down to 1 or 2 a day (400mg). I've never had any problems so far.
