Can Hollister and Convatec Bags and Flanges Be Interchanged?

This topic is about whether you can mix and match flanges (also known as skin barriers) and pouches from two different ostomy product brands, Hollister and Convatec. The question is if you can use a flange from one brand with a pouch from the other.

Here are some helpful insights:

1. Many people have shared that currently, Hollister and Convatec flanges and pouches are not compatible with each other. They don't snap together as they used to about 20 years ago.

2. Nowadays, most ostomy systems are designed to be proprietary. This means that it's generally unlikely for two-piece components from different manufacturers, like Hollister and Convatec, to fit securely together.
