I like to feel appreciative

This topic is about someone who has come to appreciate their ostomy and the positive impact it has had on their life. Initially, they couldn't imagine being grateful for it, but now they see it as a blessing. Here are some of the reasons why they feel this way:

- The ostomy prevented a painful decline in health and possibly saved their life.
- It allows them to stand, sit, and move freely, feeling light and energetic.
- It has restored their overall comfort and ease, making it possible to be discreet in public and bringing back joy and interest in life.
- It enables them to raise their three children and enjoy time with their grandchildren.
- They humorously mention the challenge of hernia risk when lifting children and imagine inventing a device to safely place kids on their lap.

Here are some pieces of advice and insights shared:

1. The improvements in quality of life are significant. Living with less pain and educating friends and family, often with a touch of humor, can help make the experience more normal.
2. Multiple surgeries can lead to chronic pain and a heavy reliance on pain medication. If possible, further operations should be reconsidered, as reversals may not provide the desired results.
