I've always used the barrier wipes, but I'm thinking about trying the spray. Does anyone else use the spray?

I switched to wipes from spray because I felt I was overusing.

I have tried both. Multiple types. Landed on wipes. Simple and safe, no sting.

I am scheduled for my reversal on 12/4. All my pre-admin stuff is completed and my GI signed off on the clearance letter this morning. I am super excited and looking forward to not having a bag. I just hope all goes well and heals well so I don't wake up with a temp bag which will lead to yet another surgery.

I have learned a lot from this website and will continue to be on here even after surgery. To all the ostomates out there, keep your heads up and keep pressing forward. We all have good and bad days. Best of luck to you all.

I will be sure to post my progress after surgery. I'm praying for you all.

I always use spray to take my bag off and then use a couple of wipes to clean everything off my skin before showering. It doesn't take much spray to get your bag/wafer off. Get an area started, spray a little on, let it soak for a few seconds, and then work your way down.

I prefer a spray adhesive remover but like the barrier wipes. Although in truth I haven't experimented much with the barrier spray. Adhesive remover wipes are OK, but the spray is just easier to use.

I have used both and prefer the spray. I use Brava adhesive remover spray by Coloplast.

I always use the barrier spray and never have a problem.

We're pretty new to this, but Hubz WOC nurse suggested spray to remove wafer, then use a wipe to remove any adhesive left behind. Seems to be working, but seriously, I have been at this only six weeks and have had some memorable lessons!

Easiest way to do it, in my opinion. 👍

Hi all, I've only used the wipes, and that gets the job done.

Barrier cream for me (Brava). Not tried the barrier spray for me (Brava); the wipes left too much residue to clean off. I also found the cream helps with any sweat rash under or around the edge of the wafer. I use the salts adhesive remover spray to take the wafer off, then spray again and wipe off with a damp wipe. Works for me; I have not had any real problems.
