Finally Recovering from Ken Bum Surgery

This topic is about someone who has just returned home after undergoing Ken Butt surgery, also known as a proctectomy. They are experiencing minimal pain and are pleased to be part of what they call the "Ken club." However, they are dealing with some persistent hiccups that are causing discomfort.

Here are some helpful tips and insights for anyone recovering from this type of surgery:

1. Make sure you have a plan for managing pain before you leave the hospital. Having a prescription for something like oxycodone can be helpful, even if you end up using very little of it.

2. When sitting, use a soft pillow to make yourself more comfortable. If possible, arrange for some help at home to assist with daily tasks, and try to avoid bending to protect the surgical site.

3. Avoid using donut-style cushions after this surgery, as they can put stress on the wound area.

4. Take your recovery slowly and carefully. Healing tends to improve steadily once you are past the initial hospital phase, so give yourself time to rest and recuperate.
