Traveling with Greg's Bag: A Fun Photo Series

This topic is about a biker, affectionately known as "bikerboy," who has been working in Japan and is planning a fun photo project called "Traveling With Greg’s Bag," showcasing the different places his ostomy pouch has been. He is looking forward to flying back home soon to relax and enjoy some time riding his Harley. Here are some insights and tips he shared about traveling and living with an ostomy:

1. Airport Security: Bikerboy sometimes wears a clear pouch and shows it to airport screeners, finding it amusing and noting that he has never faced any issues.

2. Seating on Flights: He always books an aisle seat to make it easier to access the restroom without disturbing others.

3. In-flight Gas: Airline meals tend to cause a lot of gas, so he often needs to get up every hour to vent his pouch.

4. Diet Adaptation: Initially, his output was low when he first arrived in Japan, but it improved as his stomach adjusted to the local cuisine.

5. Work Environment: As a welder and mechanic on a Navy ship, he carries extra wafers and pouches due to the demanding nature of his job. Over a month, he used 5 Hollister flexible wafers and 5 bags.

6. Wear Time & Skin Care:
- He once tried to stretch the use of a wafer to three weeks but developed skin sores. His doctor advised changing them more frequently.
- His current routine involves changing the wafer every 3-5 days.

7. Supply Planning: He suggests planning for what you think you'll need and then doubling it to ensure you have enough supplies.

8. Re-using Pouches: He mentions that a pouch can be rinsed out and reused for a month or longer.

9. Preferred Product: He prefers using the Hollister Flexible Wafer, although he didn't specify a product number.

10. Invitation: He extends an invitation to meet any forum members visiting California.
