Hi everyone,

Nice to meet all of you. I'm 77 days post-APR plus colostomy surgery to remove a tumor in my anus. Slowly getting used to my stoma and dealing with some emotional issues as my stoma is permanent.

So glad to have found this website.

Have a blessed day...

This site was a true lifeline when I first became a member back in 1997. The support I received during the time of a critical time in my life.was greatly needed. I met so many wonderful people that became like family. And fell in love with a wonderful woman from the UK. Visited here and later had her come to me here in the states.

Welcome Kwang! We are a friendly bunch. Ask anything you like. We've heard it all, and nothing is too gross. Dealing with the emotional part can be hard, but there is lots of support here from people who understand.

Hi Kwang,

Welcome! This site is great if you need help, support, answers, or anything. I've mostly been a reader here, learning about everyone and occasionally adding my own advice where I can.

I had a tumor removed and an ileostomy. My reversal is this Friday, but aside from the occasional leak, I have not really minded it. Sometimes I even forget I have it.

I like using humor to adjust to everything. I called my tumor a pain in the butt.

My best advice for new people here is to read through as many topics as possible. There have been many I read, and when I had a similar situation, I was prepared. There's plenty of great tips and advice.

Take care

Dèsirée

Hi Kwang

Nice to meet you. I am 2½ years post-surgery with a permanent ileostomy. It wasn't a planned operation, and I knew nothing about it until over a week later, and I am still struggling, if I am honest. I too get very, very emotional still. My confidence has been knocked greatly. I am housebound at the moment due to another medical issue, which is ongoing under the consultants.

Saying all this, I am still a great listener, friend, and love a good conversation, so if you need a chat, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Stephanie 🌞
