You said flex; mine does the same thing. When I rub around the stoma, it shrinks and gets smaller. Then, in 30 seconds, it balloons out. My surgeon said he's never heard of this before, and he's a very highly respected surgeon in this field.

Yes, it shrinks a lot when I wipe around it.

As long as it's the only thing that shrinks, when you touch it, I'd say you're in business. 🤭.

You have a unique relationship with that alien spud. Mine takes a while to deflate to get a flange on. Lucky you. 👍

This site was a true lifeline when I first became a member back in 1997. The support I received during the time of a critical time in my life.was greatly needed. I met so many wonderful people that became like family. And fell in love with a wonderful woman from the UK. Visited here and later had her come to me here in the states.

That's a very unique response! Since my stoma can retract to almost skin level, that would make it more difficult to get my appliance on. I try to pick times when the colostomy is sticking out to change.

I've been using a small female shaver from Amazon. I believe it's called a bikini shaver for around $10. It does a fantastic job.

Luckily, no hair near my stoma. After Ken Butt, the follicles left itched like mad. Got a few laser zaps, and all gone.
