Hello all   I would lke some advice please.  Ive had a Urostomy for 16 years  - No real problems at all even though I have had a small hernia for 10yrs  (due to unavoidable heaving lifting).. However just recenty I have been having a nagging pain in my intestines particularly when in bed /during the night. Mornings I am now 'wretching' air but nothing else.   I did visit the Dr who has requested a CT scan. The NHS is brilliant but it takes time. She also suggested paracetamol prior to bedtime. (no effect)  I have the feeling that my hernia has increased in size and somehow  blocking my digestive system. Has anyone got any other suggestions or advice please. x  Thank you.

Hi Leggy

Well I hope your Doctor has you on the urgent list for CT..sounds to me that this should be checked out ASAP. Take care and please let us know how you get on .

Hi Leggy,

Short of knowing what the CT indicated anything I recommended would be a guess, so that's not real helpful.  But if you think your digestive system is somehow being blocked then change your diet to less solid food, you know like yogurt, jello, stuff put thru a blender, etc, and see if you notice the pain decreasing.  If not then there's probably something else afoot. Keep us abreast.

thanks,

Hi Leggy, Sorry you are having these problems. I would push the Dr to get the CT scan as soon as possible. Let us know how you are doing and what you find out good luck.
