Just joined the site and wanted to say hi to everyone. Had a radical cystectomy in Dec 09, slowly coming to terms with it all. Hoping to meet some great people for chat, wanting to start smiling again xxx

Hi Tine - good morning from grey Wiltshire and welcome to the madhouse. Feel free to ask anything on here; you will always get a response from someone who has been in that position or worse. We're pretty crazy, mind, but hey, we try! Take care, Rachel xx

Thanks for the welcome, guys. I have to admit this website does seem very friendly and helpful.

I will definitely log into chat as soon as I can and see who is around. Looking forward to meeting some like-minded people! :)

Hi Rachel and Tine
Welcome Tine, and yes, we are mad here, or so I have found out the last few weeks... Share and ask questions. It sometimes takes a while to get used to having a stoma, but we've all been there before... Think of it as a friend that saved your life...

Welcome Tine, from an old geezer who will go out of his way to make you feel as comfortable as possible, with a warped sense of humor you'll never know what's coming, hopefully a smile once in a while. Ed

Thank you all for such a warm welcome. I think this site will be my second family. Finding life a bit lonely at the minute, so happy I've found this site, and from the comments, I already know it won't be long before I'm smiling and laughing again.

You'll find, as I have, that you get pretty close to the people in here. You know the issues; you can read the pain in what they type, and you can empathize with them. You will get great support here and maybe a laugh or two. There are some real characters in these forums. But I see myself as the mature one here.

It's often very hard to keep the others under control, but I give it my best. Again, welcome to the house of silliness!

Eh? What are you on about - you are usually acting like a pirate and swashbuckling all over the place! Amazing the places he can reach with that sword ......

I guess you had better just keep polishing it up and keep it at the ready; you never know when you will need it.

Hi Tine,

I had a radical cystectomy two years ago due to bladder cancer. Welcome, and I hope we get to chat soon. Cheers, Julie
