Had reversal 2 weeks ago. Feel pretty good. Normal or near-normal bowel movements. Then today, diarrhea started. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, slight bleeding from a scab near a staple, which is due out next week. Not much pain. Walking twice a day.

I found that after my reversal (April 2022), when things got "outta whack," Pepto Bismol was something that worked wonders for me. I used to go straight for the Loperamide, but that is only if the initial shot of Pepto didn't/don't stop the frequency issues. I've been fortunate that the BMs have been more or less normal after about the first month since the reversal; every once in a while, there's a bump in the road, but they're just short-lived irritations.

Hopefully, your wound issue resolved itself!

Well it's just coming upto a year since I had my emergency stoma. Since joining MAOM I have learnt all different kinds of ideas to help with the stoma. Not only that I have made a lot of good friends who I can talk to. The beauty of this site is it's not just giving tips and ideas we talk about anything and everything. So thank you for giving us a great site. XX

I had a similar problem with diarrhea about a week after my reversal. If it doesn't clear up quickly, seek medical help. My problem turned out to be a bug (Clostridium difficile). The medical people tried several things, none of which worked. After 8 weeks of permanent diarrhea and a loss of over 25 pounds in weight, they eventually did a complete colectomy. That cured the problem; I now have an ileostomy instead of a colostomy. I hope you have better luck than I did. Best wishes.
