There has been some talk about a hole punch for the wafer.I have this but am sorry i can not find the web address for more details yet.Hope someone can get on the net and find it and share the address because it is a great tool. You measure your stoma and then order your size round blade. It is a perfect fit around the stoma every time which helps to secure it on longer with a smaller chance of leaks than if you are still cutting the holes with a pair of scissors.

I use a hammer and a punch,I also have these nice rounded scissors, and you can order from convatec the wafer you widen with you finger and it snuggles to your stoma.I used a small torch one day and it worked okay, melts nice and smooth.I like to carry a fanny pack around and the smaller the cutter the better. One day up on the mountain I put the wafer on the ground and put a quarter over the hole and stepped on it,not bad maybe next time I'll drive over it.

Thank you for your quick reply. I'll discuss irrigation with my doctor. I'm sure it would be down the road. My output is still very liquid. It's all so unpredictable at 6 weeks post-op. I have such a fear of constipation as I struggled with this forever. I used a fiber source to thicken the stool but it hasn't helped very much. I guess I will continue to be positive but it is a bit of a pain. This website is great and everyone is so informative. Cheryl

Ok here is the hole punch.I got mine 4 or 5 years ago from a different company but these are the same. The tool plus the blade {make sure you get the right size} was $150 then.I know sounds expensive but the blade {that round metal thing} is surgical steel and it has never dulled for me .Same hole every time and takes about 3 seconds to make. It should last the rest of my life.

That will do it. Again make sure you get the right size cutting blade for you. That is the most expensive part. In my convatec wafer box they always have a measuring device so maybe yours does to.
