this is for the question about the leaks. Tampabay...sorry the answer might help though...
I had the same problem with leaking. I use a ConvaTec Sur-Fit; it's a moldable Durahesive skin barrier with a molding wafer to your stoma. Along with it, I use an insert for the wafer (the outside, hope I'm explaining okay

), but it's a system that goes together, so wherever you get your appliance at, just ask them about the ConvaTec moldable wafer and ConvaTec convex insert. I was shown this by different stoma nurses I have met along the way, and this seems to work for me; haven't had a leak since. And see, the cool part is that the insert pushes your stoma upward a little and with the moldable wafer, it molds to your stoma! It makes things a little easier... Hope things get better, hope you might find this info handy!

What Members Are Saying

If I was a relative newbie with an ostomy, I have no doubt that this site would be very helpful to me. The members are quick to respond to questions and issues and they are filled with experience. When I joined, I already had a lifetime with an ostomy, so I just regard it as a place to meet and communicate with other folks similarly situated. Either way, it is a good site.
