Hi all

Just wanted to let some very good friends know that I've finally had my date for the next operation.
All that I've been through over the last 5 years has been hard, but this last year has taken some strength to get over. After my cystectomy in '09, I thought that was it, but with all the leaks and sore skin, I'm afraid it has taken its toll. But what is it they say? "Things that try and break us only make us stronger."
After this next operation, I'm hopefully able to get on with this thing they call life and begin to have more happy days than sad.
I have met some wonderful people on this site...too many to name...you all know who you are. Without you all, I couldn't have gotten through it and wouldn't have been able to dig deep and find the strength to carry on.
Huge hugs

Tine...xx

Good luck, Tina, and the feelings are all so mutual. We get strength from one another, and that is the beauty of this site. You are not alone. Love to you, and get well soon, and wishing you all the best. Michael

This site has been a blessing for me in learning how to cope with and navigate this journey as an ostomate. I have a colostomy as a result of a perforation in my colon since May of this year. I don't know yet if it will be permanent or reversible. The people on here have provided me with so much advice and information about living with an ostomy that I don't think I could get anywhere else. You all have given me hope and a place to come to for support. I still struggle with acceptance, but know that it will come if I am patient. Patience has never been my strong suit! Also, I love all the humor, although it really pissed me off when I first came on here. Thanks to all of you.
