MY OSTO-FRIENDS.

Since I had an ostomy.

Many questions I foresee.

But one thing’s certain I have found.

Many answers are around.

Some of the answers I can get.

By surfing on the internet.

Within this osto-underworld.

Many answers are unfurled.

People there will often know.

What and when and where to go.

They seem pleased to share their wisdom.

All about this osto-system.

Does what they say apply to me?

Or how I view my ostomy?

Well, so that I won’t go astray.

I try to weigh up all they say.

And hope that what they say perchance.

Will also fit my circumstance.

Sometimes it does, in little bits.

Sometimes it feels like nothing fits.

Sometimes I’m filled with great despair.

It’s then I need someone to care.

Not many people understand.

They have not had this thing first hand.

But those who have experience.

Have shown they have resilience.

They shine a light and give us hope.

And show us all how we can cope.

At those times when hope descends.

I know I need those osto- friends.

They’re always there as I recall.

So I wish to thank them all.

Hello Ambies, Thanks for your positive comments. For the next year or so I have set myself a task to write at least one verse per day. This means I'm trying hard not to get distracted and I am concentrating on specific poems for people with emotional problems. However, there are those occasions when my own problems won't recede until I have expressed my feelings in verse, Hence the spasmodic outbursts on this site. I do try to get on here as often as I can and I do very much appreciate your own verses when they appear here. Thanks again.Bill

Thanks Bill :) I do understand how with your verses and poems it's a help to you and others. Xxx Even if I rant on here, I feel that has helped me just to write how things are, how I feel. You two have a great tool in your poems. Xxx Mooza xxxxxxxx

Good work! I too wrote one about 6 years ago. I decided to share here, and since then I've run across 3 others (so far) who had done the same =)
