Hello Ostomates,

It is a glorious morning here in New Jersey following a very stormy day. I just wanted to share some information with you that I get from Hollister about the Ostomy Awareness Day and Run. I am sure many of you are already informed but here is the link. https://ostomy5k.org/

Unfortunately, there doesn't not appear to be an event scheduled for the Northeast

It's only a matter of time, Marv. Look at all the commercials now on TV promoting drugs for IBD. Public awareness of bowel problems and treatments is growing. Ostomy understanding is coming out of the closet. Someday soon ostomies will be commonly seen as a solution and not the problem.

Great site..I have had an colostomy over 30 years..and have been thru skin rash around my stoma,hernias(2), leaks, odor control , needed clothing suggestions and this site has helped me with recommendations and many ideas worked!
I wish it was around 30 years ago. Thank you everyone!

Hello MarVee.
Thanks for informing us about these events. I am way past running that sort of distance myself but I was interested in supporting the Durham or Birmingham runs. That was, until I found out that these were in the US and not the UK, which makes them a bit too far to travel as a spectator/supporter. Anyway, I do wish you all well and I hope you achieve you aims by holding these events.
Best wishes
Bill

Hi, Maria, Bill here "Zeppo". I'd like to congratulate you on your recent connection. I knew you were a marvelous-looking lady, and likewise, your connection is also a handsome dude! There are so many wonderful things that now you can share together, and all of a sudden, life is more deserving for you both. I couldn't be happier for you both, and this certainly has made my day! Best of everything to you both, well deserved too. Bill :-)
