After I complete prep, should I just change the bag and wipe around the stoma and put on a new bag? I don't want to take off the flange if they will put on another flange. Way too irritating to the skin, right?

I suppose it depends on how sensitive your skin is. Personally, I would change the whole thing. But then, I do not have a colon and have no need for a colonoscopy. I do need an annual sigmoidoscopy. But the prep for that does not involve my bag. So, I will shut up now. 🥸

Good Evening Bob and All,

I checked my email and saw new postings. That's when I usually visit the site. I've recently met a few others who have developed UC and have made contact with them. I've directed them to this site. I also use the site to look up concerns they or I have. This site has been unusually helpful to me. I have seen questions and concerns of others posted. After I scroll down and see similar comments that I would make, I don't comment. As for social media interest, I have a Facebook account (due to work). As of this date, I have one Facebook Friend (and don't even know how that happened). I find the content here more relevant to my life. Then again, I'm old school. If I want to see how a friend is doing I just make a call.

Stay Safe and Sane all. Back to the hockey game,

SharkFan

I'd leave it all alone until you have your colonoscopy. They may change your bag for you or just put on everything fresh once it's all over.

I applied a new one the morning of my scope and they did not need to remove it. I did take a new flange with me so while I was out they would have a new one if they needed to take it off.
