I thought it was Oct. 5th that was World Ostomy Day? Am I misinformed?

World Ostomy Day is always the first Saturday in October......but every day is worth celebrating with an ostomy. I, for one, would have been dead by the age of 25 without mine. I'm 55 now. Happy every day, ostomy! Live, love, and be happy.

Edit....I have had an email from an ostomy company saying Wednesday, October 2, is World Ostomy Day......so it's a bit confusing to when I've always been told it is, but still a great day to celebrate.

Nervous but excited about tomorrow. I have been reading some of the threads here and am brand new to the site. I am grateful to have had the ileostomy so my body had a chance to heal but am truly hoping all goes well with the operation and future.

I have a collapsed disk in my back and sleeping on it for the past 7 months because of the bag has caused me constant daily excruciating pain. I haven't slept through the night and have had so many accidents.

I am so glad I found this site. Gained so much information so I am much better prepared for what happens post operation and what worked for people diet and supplement (fiber) wise. Thank you for that.

It is confusing. But the United Ostomy Association of America says it's the 5th. And Hollister also says it's the 5th. I get emails from both.

Glad we only get 1 day and all the other health issues get a month. 🤷‍♂️ I've yet to see/hear an ad anywhere (except ostomy sites) about Ostomy Day or anything ostomy related.

I know we get a day, and other things get a month.

Celebrate both October 2 & October 5!

October 2 is World Ostomy Day. October 5 is the UOAA Ostomy Awareness Day.

I am doing a 5K in Rogers, AR, tomorrow in celebration. Support the UOAA!

Wow, you are going to do a 5K. Good luck with that! I hope you have fun and raise awareness.
