I've noticed lately that I am getting red sores on my right leg where my ostomy hangs down and also in other places. How do I treat and get rid of the sores?

What type of red sores are they on the skin under your wafer as well?

What do you mean by other places? Where else do you have red sores? Is it a rash? Could it be unrelated to your ostomy? Is it only around your ostomy bag? Do you have leaks? Is it red around your stoma too?

Good Evening Bob and All,

I checked my email and saw new postings. That's when I usually visit the site. I've recently met a few others who have developed UC and have made contact with them. I've directed them to this site. I also use the site to look up concerns they or I have. This site has been unusually helpful to me. I have seen questions and concerns of others posted. After I scroll down and see similar comments that I would make, I don't comment. As for social media interest, I have a Facebook account (due to work). As of this date, I have one Facebook Friend (and don't even know how that happened). I find the content here more relevant to my life. Then again, I'm old school. If I want to see how a friend is doing I just make a call.

Stay Safe and Sane all. Back to the hockey game,

Do you mean your bag touches your leg and a rash is forming from friction? But then these sores are forming elsewhere?

Exactly where in relation to your stoma skin? Or another location? Area?

If possible, pictures. Many things can cause a rash or local irritation.

I know this.

Allergic to so many things.

When my pouch touches my thighs, I get a rash.

It goes away quickly but happens every day.

This is the best stuff ever but pricey: Sarna Sensitive Steroid-Free Anti-Itch Lotion for Dry Irritated Skin, fragrance-free.
