I'm sorry to bother if there's anyone in San Diego who has colostomy bags they can spare. I really need them. I am willing to pay but don't have too much money. I currently am waiting for Medicaid and as of now only have the bag that I'd on my stomach and I keep going to ER but they keep telling me I can't keep going back.

Hey, said you're waiting on Medicaid. How have you been getting your bags since 2019? Have you tried calling the 211? It's supposed to be for ostomy supplies when you are in need of supplies. There are other organizations; I can't remember them all off the top of my head, but you can Google and find out. Or buy them out of pocket from Medical Monks, Vitality Medical, and there are a lot more; just got to look to see what fits best for you.

I take part in these forums almost every day. They and the people that contribute to them have made all the difference in my having the courage to live a normal life with an ileostomy. The people here are marvelous and come from all walks of life and from all over the world. Hearing what others have lived through has really helped me put my own experience in perspective. I highly recommend all ostomates and caretakers of ostomates to come join us.

Let me know specifically what you need, including size, and if I have it, I'll send.

If Kas can't help you, go to the UOAA website. Some of their local support groups maintain supply closets that can help. They may also be able to help you with other local resources.

There is no difference between an ileo bag and a colostomy bag, correct?

What matters is the size needed: diameter. You can't just ask for a bag without mentioning the size or part number you are using.

And since it's a timely matter, it's imperative to say exactly what you use now and all the components of the appliance you might also need.

Part numbers or product numbers would solve this issue immediately.

If Kas or I can help, we will. More details, please!

I will say that the coloplast will not send out emergency supplies. They are actually ass holes about it and you being in a bad situation. I say from personal experience. I had just gotten my shipment and a day later I had to have emergency surgery which obviously changed the size wafer I needed for when I got home I called them told them my situation told them I would send my shipment back to them to get a replacement of the size I needed and I offered to send them documents proving I just had surgery. They said nope , I talked to a manger and the manager said no. So emergency wise they won't do jack. And the program you have to fill out an application and that process takes a couple weeks if your approved.

Hi.. welcome. Great info. Always important to know of agencies willing to help.

It's been two days since her post. I wonder what happened if this was such a dire situation. Where is she at? What's up?

Kas and I can overnight supplies almost immediately. No questions asked.

If we knew her size or product number, she'd have them Monday or Tuesday.

Perhaps an emergency has arisen. I hope not. Had we the details earlier, the products—if available from us—would be on the way..

Maybe she found a solution?

Nail-biting time!😳
