Underwent symptoms of a blockage this evening, started my usual blockage protocol, but then I slipped in a new trick up my sleeve. Hopped on my vibration plate and assumed some positions that encourage small bowel movement. Took about 10 minutes, and things seem to be moving. Whew, will keep this in the old playbook. 📕

Shaking things up... new trick...

Thanks... I'm dense. What exactly is a vibration plate?...

I hope it's nothing like those paint can mixers at Home Depot!?

You'd definitely lose one or two... um... er... body parts on that sucker. 🤣

After I got my ostomy I found this site and got a lifetime membership. I have had so much help from the core members, things that even the wound care nurses didn't know. If you haven't been through this journey you don't know - only the people that have experienced this first hand truly understand what your going through. The support is enormously helpful getting through this. Afterwards when you start to learn how to deal with this new normal you can begin to help others.  ...mtnman.

Does the chick come with that thing? 🥵? I'll take two. 😁.

Much better version than what Alex showed... the belly buster I think it was called.

Although... that belt isn't hitting any belly. 🤣😂😆

Actually..........I think Alex's would clear a blockage faster! But maybe low impact is the way to go......just to be safe!

;O)

Makes sense. Doctors and nurses always recommend light exercise to help clear a blockage.

Always nice to have a new tool in the chest!

Thanks for the info. I found it on Amzn for $95. It says it's for lymphatic drainage. I'm going to get my doctor's clearance on this before I order it. Looks good, though. Glad everything worked "out" for you. Pun intended.

OMG! Sometimes you people make me laugh! I got a visual on that! "Clamp on head!" And the belly buster (not on his belly), no wonder he looks so happy! You people kill me! What a chuckle!

This didn't occur to me when I was repeatedly hospitalized for blockages - I have a vibroplate with an attached seat (wheelchair user and can't stand).

What did work was my son picking me up as you would a child - under the armpits to put me in the car, so he rigged a pull-up bar for me in case he wasn't home!

8-hour surgery resolved things, but it's useful to know the vibro plate trick as I'm prone to adhesions, and they may catch up with me in the future.

Hi Cplumber - I have had a bag for a year now and had my first partial blockage this week due to papaya salad and did not chew, chew, chew! Just wanted to see what other protocols you and other Osteomates use? I was able to use a Fleet enema and digitized my stoma to help the blockage! I thank you all for your feedback.... Scot

My checklist includes:

Grape juice - is a small bowl of laxative

Hang from a chin-up bar

Gut massage

Laying on your left side

Long nap

Heating pad

Pain meds

Long bath

On all fours and arch back

Eat pudding

What a great idea! I have one of these plates, so I will try it when I next get a blockage. Hopefully, I will never need to use it for this, though.
