Has anyone used these before? My colostomy is at my waist, and I liked using the 2pc when it was further down, but since my revision and because of it being at my waistline, I cannot use what I once did. I found these and thought maybe.

I'll be trying these next as they're the replacement for my old discontinued model. See how it goes.

Please let me know how they work for you.

Well,  I  hit the two year mark. I went back and read my posts from when I first found this site. I was very fortunate in that I stumbled upon it only 4 weeks post op. I have said many times that this community really saved me. The first 2 weeks after my surgery I shut down completely. It wasn't until about the 3rd week that my son came in to my room, flicked on the light and told me I was going to have to get back to living because I was scaring him. I had fallen into such a depression.  He  ticked me off,  but it also made me stop and think- what was I going to do? Feel sorry for myself and sulk, or be grateful I was alive.

I've re-read my journals from that time and it was after my son kicked my butt, so to speak, I took an honest inventory and had to dig deeper than I've ever had to. I mean, I had survived a pretty nasty divorce, after a pretty crappy marriage and that was tough. But this was different. I felt like I was now a handicapped person who would be limited in their life and be looked at as a freak. My mental state was precarious, at best.

But then I found this site. I just lurked a bit before posting. I read so many of the other stories and I started to see just how full my life can be, I was not handicapped,  and certainly not a freak! The stories of survival, the sense of humor, the support and compassion was inspiring.  It was then I made myself get out of the dark, and get my sh*t together.

Not all rainbows and sunshine at first, hardly! But with grace from myself - to myself, and the kindness and willingness of the folks here to be supportive, non judgemental and openly share intimate details about their life circumstances,  l not only survived but thrived.

I think of all the years I had suffered with such extreme pain, barely functioning,  and the many hospital stays and how that is all behind me now.  (All fingers, toes, and legs crossed that I never have to go near a hospital for myself ever again. I think I'd rather have a fork stuck in my eye. I loathe every about them.)

So, to everyone who has been a part of this journey with me, to say thank you is not enough. I'm forever grateful to know you all.  My Angels, each one of you.

And as the Grateful Dead famously said,

"what a long strange trip it's been!"

Im so happy I'm tripping with you all.

I use the Sensura Mio light convex 1-piece. I used 2 pieces for years, but I feel like the 1-piece is more secure. I never have leaks; I have an ileostomy. I also use the Brava moldable rings. I swear by both; I've tried others, but I have used these for years now. I got my ileostomy in 2008.

My stoma is at my waist also, and I use these. They've worked well for nearly three years, and I don't have any complaints. I did change from the large to small since body changes, but it's nice that Coloplast has two options available. I found that they do work better with the barrier strips. I do perspire heavily when I'm working outdoors, but everything has stayed well connected in spite of that. I'd say give it a go. Hope it works as well for you as it does for me.

I also use Sensura Mio light convex 1 piece for a waist-high stoma. I tried the flex, but it didn't work as well for me as the light convex.

I have used Coloplast's one-piece SenSuro Mio since getting my colostomy five years ago. I've never had a problem with it and find it comfortable. The SenSuro Flex looks very similar, though apparently 2-piece. Worth a try! Good luck with it.

I have always used one-piece bags with my waistline colostomy (and braces for my trousers) and found Hollister to be totally reliable and easy to remove. I tried lots of other one-piece samples, but so far, Hollister is the best for me. Coloplast did not suit me as well.

I use these and have for about 2 months now. I have never had any issues with them. They are easy to put on, and they stay put. They're flexible, so you can move around more comfortably. They have a bigger area that sticks to you, so I never have leaks. The bags are so easy to put on and take off. I would recommend these for sure.

I use this product and absolutely love it. It feels cleaner than the Hollister product, and the bottom of the bag can be rolled under again, and the mesh on the bottom rolled over to secure it under. I don't need to use an ostomy bag cover. Very pleased.

Thank you for your response. Are you able to bend well with that one? I have one I got in a sample, but it just doesn't seem like it would bend with me.

Thank you for your reply. I'll give them another try; I was somewhat nervous that they would end up leaking.

Do you irrigate? I do, and I'm wondering if they do well with doing that.

I have been using them, and the only problem I have compared to my two-piece is that the wafer in the pouch is brown, and I think I'm allergic to it. Maybe not, because I can wear them. I just can't wear them for a long period of time.

Do you irrigate with these? I do and need to make sure they don't weaken, and then it starts to leak. I appreciate your responses.
