Hi, I had my stoma for a year this month. I had one before that got reversed, but it didn't work out. I'm just wondering if it's normal to wake up during the night with a stomach ache until I empty the bag. I try to finish eating and drinking early, but it makes no difference.

Are you suggesting the pain goes away once you empty?

Perhaps it's the weight?

I have heard of phantom pain or feelings of missing body parts. This just doesn't seem the same.

Every morning when I enjoy my big cup of coffee I scroll through this site and this warm feeling just overwhelms me.

I never post anything (too shy and it feels like I don’t have anything of interest to share tbh) but I sure read a lot of posts from you guys and they are so informative, supportive encouraging and so so full of love and a big dose of humor.

I feel like part of the best family in the world (even though I am just sitting quietly in the corner lol).

I just wanted to share that feeling and say thanks to all of you for being so wonderful.

And also, please keep some fingers crossed for me this week. I have my blood test on Thursday, checking my CA 125 levels. Ovarian cancer reoccurrence fear unlocked again. I hate it!

Lots of love from Sweden

I'm not clear on what you are saying either. Is this pain new? It only happens at night? Not sure why emptying would make a difference.

Pain has been ongoing for months, always worse at night. Sometimes my bag is not even full, just a constant ache in the pelvic area.

Thanks for replying. I don't think it's weight, as sometimes the bag is not full. I was wondering if maybe all the cancer treatment I got has damaged the nerves.
