With the yesterday's arrival of the most recent "The Phoenix" magazine, published by United Ostomy Associations of America (UOAA), came their announcement that, "...our publisher has made the difficult decision that this current issue will be the final printed and digital edition of "The Phoenix.'"

For those of you, like me, who belonged to the UOAA and received "The Phoenix," it was a treasure-trove of helpful ostomy-related information, enlightening product reviews, tips, lifestyle profiles, and wonderful Q & A columns, including columns written by doctors and other medical professionals.

Change is certainly inevitable, but as an ostomate for 59 years, I will miss the invaluable information presented in every issue of this now-defunct publication.

May "The Phoenix" rest in peace.

Sorry to hear the magazine is discontinuing. I had thought about subscribing to it but never got around to it. I am glad it provided you with some good information.

Every morning when I enjoy my big cup of coffee I scroll through this site and this warm feeling just overwhelms me.

I never post anything (too shy and it feels like I don’t have anything of interest to share tbh) but I sure read a lot of posts from you guys and they are so informative, supportive encouraging and so so full of love and a big dose of humor.

I feel like part of the best family in the world (even though I am just sitting quietly in the corner lol).

I just wanted to share that feeling and say thanks to all of you for being so wonderful.

And also, please keep some fingers crossed for me this week. I have my blood test on Thursday, checking my CA 125 levels. Ovarian cancer reoccurrence fear unlocked again. I hate it!

Lots of love from Sweden

I’m sure it all comes down to money and things that cost money and don’t produce money in some way don’t last long in today’s society. Never read it and never belonged to them but it’s a business and businesses make decisions based on money first and foremost.

Another example of the printed word biting the dust.
