This is Zack; new member looking for answer to what's happened to Cymed company.  seems their ostomy supplies are either back ordered or just not available.  Looking for some supply house that may have some of my particular unit in stock.

Zack,
Check w/ Edgepark Surgical 1-800-321-0591. They are a very large, reliable distributor of many types of supplies. You may have to change brands & if so they will send you samples of other manufacturer's products. I tried several other suppliers before discovering Edgepark, have used them ever since w/ no problems. Good luck.

Good Evening Bob and All,

I checked my email and saw new postings. That's when I usually visit the site. I've recently met a few others who have developed UC and have made contact with them. I've directed them to this site. I also use the site to look up concerns they or I have. This site has been unusually helpful to me. I have seen questions and concerns of others posted. After I scroll down and see similar comments that I would make, I don't comment. As for social media interest, I have a Facebook account (due to work). As of this date, I have one Facebook Friend (and don't even know how that happened). I find the content here more relevant to my life. Then again, I'm old school. If I want to see how a friend is doing I just make a call.

Stay Safe and Sane all. Back to the hockey game,

SharkFan

Zack, I use primarily Cymed Microskin barriers and Hollister New Image. COS Medical Supply, Inc. carries the best supply of Cymed I have found and a good inventory of all the others. It is under www.continentostomystore.com. They also carry irrigation supplies if you end up going that direction, if you have a colostomy and not an ileo.

Good luck and it all gets easier to figure out!

Hi Zack---
I so agree with your preference for Cymed.  Once you've used their products, it's almost unthinkable to go back to using the other companies' systems.  I went through your same search a couple months ago and came up empty.  Express Medical has been a totally reliable supplier for years, and I've found their prices to be the best (www.exmed.net ,) but even they are in the same boat now, with only sporadic, small shipments of product coming to them.  I also did a lot of Google searching to find out what happened to the company.  It's all very mysterious.  Ownership has changed hands, and there are some other problems involved, too.  If you call the company directly, customer service can be anything but friendly.  Be persistent.  I finally got through to someone out of customer service named Eric who was able to sell me one box of my size as a stop gap measure.  He assured me that this problem is temporary and that the company will continue to operate.  His estimate was two to three months before they catch up with back orders.  I would double or triple that.  Good luck!  I sure hope they will straighten things out.  The day I found Cymed, I felt like I got my life back.

Well I called Cymed directly and they were very nice to me, they have new owners and they ran out of materials to make the pouches I was told, they are in the process of getting more materials and the remaking of there great products. However, I was also told that any back orders were deleted completely from inventory so that they could concentrate on making the pouches, they told me in about 6-8 wks things should be up and running again, I hope so,

they did allow me to buy one box thou, which I was very happy about. So I will use them spare'nly...
